Raphaëlla Smits quotes
'Dreams, rest and motion'...
"This recording contains a collection of beautiful
duo-pieces, very well played by the Dutch duo
Peter Thissen and Frank Lamm, internationally better known by the name "Duolisme". Peter and Frank are well geared to one another, both instrumentally and musically.
The choice of repertoire and matching instruments (Bert Kwakkel from The Netherlands) in here spatially recorded, show respect for both the audience and the composers. Recommended!”

CD-launch Duolisme, a beautiful memory
The launch of Duolisme's new album:
'Dreams, rest and motion' was was a special and succesfull event! With a crowded concerthall and favourable responses both Frank and Peter look back on a great and satisfying day. To reveal the CD the Brittish guitarist and composer Gary Ryan came especially for the occasion to Tilburg.
He took also part in the program. We played a nice trio piece composed by Jorge Cardoso. From the same composer we played a Canción wich was accompanied by dancers from the Factorium in Tilburg, who gave the whole piece a new dimension. Impressions of the launch on our media-page. October, tour Scotland
A poem and video
Our concerttour in Schotland was an outstanding experience!
Press here for the video of the tour!
We would also like to share something special with you:
After our second concert (of the 5) in Kilconquhar Church, a visiter of the concert, Clare Dolan wrote us a poem, inspired by our playing and the music...
Where the music takes me
The notes floated
up from the strings
towards the rafters,
hanging in the air,
like a subtle scene.
Leading me by the hands
to faraway lands
the only conscious body parts
my ears.
in which the music drifts.
My mind is in a beautiful orchard.
Under the trees heavy with fruit.
By Clare Dolan (inspired by our concert of september 27 2008 in Kilconquhar)
Thank you Clare, we are honoured!
August 2008 Recording new CD completed!
The recordings of our latest CD
"Dreams, Rest and Motion" in Weston (UK) is now in de past.
It was again a great experience with lovely musical moments, created in a hard working process. In this session we recorded the
-specially written for Duolisme- titletrack "Dreams, Rest and Motion" by Gary Ryan.
The two days of hard work payed of. The late night work was good for recording the quiet pieces. At night it's indeed very quiet, unless you got a visitor, as it happens, a fly....During the day we had to stop a couple of times because of airplanes, tractors an lawnmowers. At the end, everything we've recorded is savely kept in the computer and the process of editing is at the moment being done by the producer John Taylor. John's latest news is that he'd 'finished the job' apart from 1 piece, you might know wich one...yes, the titletrack called
"Dreams, Rest and Motion". Currently we are taking care for the booklet, a new photoshoot by Mariëlle van der Ven and Niel Heesakkers is just being done and the cover-design is in the process of handling. Kim Heesakkers, www.vankim.nl (designer of 'Retratos', 'Ornamenten' and the duo's website) will again this time take care for the artwork and cover.
When will the Launch be??

After having played Heinrich Nusko's warm sounding 'Ceder' guitars for more than 5 years, the search for new instruments has begon. Frank and Peter are now looking for 'Spruce-top' guitars. The instruments need to have 'well-projecting' and 'clear sounding' qualitiys but they still need to have a 'warm tone'.
The search has started with Dutch luthiers. Soon more news!
